SENIOR CYBER SECURITY CONSULTANT

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

 

  • Meets with clients to establish security consulting needs, comprehensive statements of work and budgets for professional services

 

  • Performs compliance audits, penetration testing, network assessments, physical risk assessments and gap analysis of policies and procedures; confers with clients and client subject matter experts regarding internal operations

 

  • Performs analysis of data collected to determine problems, design solutions, recommend process improvements, and build implementation plans for client situations based upon specialized expertise

 

  • Advises or recommends client software programs, user protocols, or network engineering utilizing knowledge of theory, principles or technology of specific discipline or field of specialization, such as logical/cyber IT security; regulatory compliance; and business continuity planning/disaster planning

 

  • Develops enterprise-wide security and/or operational infrastructure architecture, policies, procedures, standards and internal controls including network drawings, information sharing, permissions, etc.

 

  • Coordinates and implements comprehensive technical security systems designed for the protection of people, property and information

 

  • Prepares written reports and delivers executive and working group-level presentations to clients regarding conclusions and solutions

 

  • Supervises other consultants as a Team Leader in the field to ensure delivery of quality work, on time and on budget

 

  • Delivers speeches, writes articles and presents information at meetings or conventions in order to promote services, exchange ideas, present thought leadership and accomplish business objectives

Job Requirements

Snapshot of Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field

 

  • Minimum of 7 years work experience in Cyber Security

 

  • Relevant experience in the electric utility energy industry

 

  • Current, active, unexpired industry-recognized credentials, such as CISSP; CISA; CISM; CBCP;

NSA-IAM/IEM; ITIL; or C|EH

 

  • Minimum accurate keyboarding speed of 40 wpm

 

  • Knowledge of SCADA, Industrial Control Systems and/or WAN-based Complex Computing platforms in electrical or similar industrial, military or government systems

 

  • Knowledge of computers, computer systems and software, including Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft Office 2010, Project, Auto CAD, Network, VPN, and Visio. 

 

  • Estimated billable travel of 30-50% - typically in one week segments, via car or air to locations within North America; occasional international travel

 

Snapshot of Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field

 

  • Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery processes

 

  • Knowledge of complex performance and regulatory standards, such as NIST, FISMA and FERC Order 706 (NERC CIP), Industrial Control Systems and/or Industrial Programmable Logical Controllers for electrical utilities
