Job Description

The Client Service Specialist performs the day-to-day service of clients. Responsibilities include the daily management of the account includes marketing, renewals, complex service issues, enrollment meetings, and liaison to HR for rate, benefit and contract questions.  This position is client facing and will require the ability to speak and meet with senior level client teams as well as hold employee meetings. The Client Service Specialist works under the direction of a Producer/Client Advocate and reports to a team lead.

  • Resolve day-to-day service issues, including eligibility, billing, and claim issues
  • Provide consistent client service and answer client policy and coverage questions
  • Follow up with clients and other internal employees assigned to the account in developing client service plans and ensuring that decisions are implemented, contracts prepared, and appropriate parties notified
  • Assist in resolving client, carrier and/or vendor accounting issues, including collections, discrepancies, fee arrangements, billing contracts and vendor commission tracking
  • Coordinate legal review of  SPDs, contracts, and legal documents to ensure compliance
  • Answer compliance questions (with the help of legal and compliance experts) and plan interpretation questions (conference calls, meetings, etc.)
  • Assist with or manage policy checking and delivery
  • Manage internal compliance standards and record keeping in EPIC system
  • Drive the Renewal/Marketing Process
  • Maintain client relationships with Manager- and Director-level personnel (Director-HR, etc.)
  • Maintain strong carrier relationships
  • Understand and articulate the Willis Human Capital Practice Value Proposition
  • Understand client needs and can identify products and services to support needs.
  • Ability to handle fully-insured and self-insured clients
  • Ability to manage multi-state and large clients

Job Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of
  • HMO, PPO and indemnity types of health, dental and vision plans
  • FSA, HRA, HSA, COBRA, FLMA, etc. programs
  • Consumer-driven healthcare, wellness, disease management and current trends
  • Regulatory environment of employee benefit plans with an emphasis on Health Care Reform
  • 5500 filings, Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions
  • Life insurance, LTD, STD and state-required disability plans
  • Underwriting and funding concepts
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and work independently with limited supervision
  • Assist in the sales process including RFPs, proposal development, presentations, etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities and personalities
  • Computer skills which include proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as navigation utilizing the Internet
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to building new skills and fostering a positive working environment
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Compliance with all Willis WEM requirements (quality control) to ensure green audits
  • Deep understanding of and ability in articulating the value and navigation of the Human Capital Practice tools
 
Requirements:

  • Life and Health license
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Professional designation/certification such as CEBS, GBA or PHR a plus
  • Three or more years of industry experience
  • Two or more years of analytical analysis or employee benefit programs preferred
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to travel as needed
