We are currently seeking a mechanical or electrical engineer to join our fun and dynamic Facility & Site Division.

Key Responsibilities/Duties of Position: Plan and design engineering work for MEP systems. Document existing MEP system conditions in existing buildings. Act as part of a team of professionals headed by a PM on one or more projects. Communicate with PM as scope of work shifts and flex to those changes. Interact with team members, clients, maintenance staff and others on the project. Work with conventional engineering practices including a variety of complex features like conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and difficult coordination requirements.

Typical projects might include:

Air handling unit selection, layout and duct layout - chilled water and DX cooling; VAV and constant volume.

Hydronic HVAC system design.

Chiller selection, layout and design - air cooled and water cooled; primary/secondary pumping systems.

System heating system design - boiler, condensate feedwater systems selection, layout and design.

Plumbing system design - domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, roof drain systems.

General lighting design.

Building power system design - determination of electrical loads for distribution equipment selection, layout and design; general understanding of standby engine generator systems and automatic transfer switch.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering.

Skills/Training/Qualifications: 7-9 years or MEP engineering design experience. P.E. license preferred and ability to obtain P.E. license required. Good organizational and communication skills necessary with experience working in teams. Willing to travel to projects in the local Midwest area - possible long days for site visits, but minimal overnight stays.
