Accountant

The successful candidateswill be a member of the profitability team,which is responsible for management reporting and margin analysis.This position will be responsible for activities such as reconciling financial results to the general ledger, monitoring daily entries for correctness, summarizing product line results, and communicating with management on their findings.More specifically, successful candidates will analyze monthly results (using methods such as trend analysis and comparisons between actual and theoretical results) to break down information so its easily explained to product line managers.This analysis is likely to include detail broken down to the individual material and customer level.

Principal Accountabilities:

65% - Compile, consolidate and analyze accounting and finance information for financial statements, management reporting and margin analysis

25% - Monitor monthly entries and coach end-users as necessary

10% - Fulfill ad hoc business requests around margin and sales data

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics or four years extensive experience with commodity markets and/or margin analysis in lieu of degree

• Ability to work extended hours during month end, year end, audits and during some ad hoc requests

• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work as part of a team, and is self-motivated

• Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and collaborate across functions and BUs

• At least 2 years experience in an analytical role, preferably in an accounting, finance, economics or statistics field

• Effective communication across all levels in the organization

• Technical PC skills including Microsoft excel

• Organizational and time management skills

• Broad knowledge of accounting principles

Preferred:

• Experience with commodity markets preferred

• Microsoft Access experience preferred

• SAP, Business Intelligence (Web Intelligence , Business Explorer , Olap Analyzer) experience preferred
