Classification: Accountant - PublicCompensation: $27.71 to $32.09 per hour
The incumbent will work closely with the Plant Controller and supervises the general accounting functions and payroll. The incumbent will also be responsible for period end close including controls, analysis and accuracy. Must be able to communicate effectively in an effort to maintain high morale, motivation, and productivity. A 4 year degree in accounting is required with 2-4 years of experience in similar position. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.The following responsibilities associated with the specific tasks performed are as follows: Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to coach and develop direct staff enhancing their growth Excellent organizational, interpersonal, team building, written and verbal communication skills Considerable initiative and the ability to contribute to team success with proven management and leadership skills Experience in SAP or similar software environment Proficient in multi-tasking a number of projects Proficiency in personal computer and Microsoft suite applications to include but not limited to spreadsheets, word processing and access Responsible for the timely, accurate and cost effective preparation of statistical and financial reports to provide a sound basis for management decisions Coordinate and control the accounting functions to comply with generally accepted accounting practices and policies Select, develop and motivate a competent staff to assure attainment of department, plant and company objectives May assume duties of Plant Controller in his/her absence The effectiveness of the position is measured by the timely , accurate and cost effective preparation of statistical and financial reports Preparation of weekly, monthly financials, variance reports and analysis of all products produced at the plant Serve as backup to inventory and shipping coordinator in his/her absence Assist with preparation and analysis of annual plant budgets Assist with preparation and responsible for managing of capital, repair and direct expense project spending and budget Additional responsibilities include payroll processing and all other general accounting functions as assigned by the Plant Controller.
