Job Description

Koch Agronomic Services is an industry leader in the production of enhanced efficiency fertilizer products designed to maximize nutrient uptake by the plant and minimize losses to the environment. Our R&D center in Decatur, GA is focused on developing the next generation fertilizer technologies to bring the latest discoveries to the agricultural, turf & ornamental markets.

Koch Agronomic Services is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., one of the largest private companies in America, employing approximately 60,000 people across nearly 60 countries. Koch Agronomic Services is looking for a self-motivated and driven Agronomist to join our R&D team in Wichita, KS, to work with a growing sales staff, marketing, and research & development teams. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and play a key role in bringing products to market and explaining the supporting science behind our products performance to customers and end users. This role offers a high degree of independence and visibility. The successful candidate will:
  • Provide technical agronomy support to approximately 6 sales representatives across North America and the growing turf and ornamental business
  • Make presentations at key accounts and industry trade association meetings
  • Develop presentations for sales force to promote the agronomic benefits of products sold
  • Work with marketing group to develop new sales material and newsletters to communicate product value and positioning
  • Coordinate research efforts to evaluate new products and demonstrate performance of existing products

Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present technical information to a diverse audience
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis
  • Bachelors Degree in Agronomy or closely related field and 5+ years experience in the Turf and Ornamental Industry


Preferred:
  • Experience making technical presentations
  • Sales experience
  • Formal training in public speaking
  • Project management and leadership
  • Masters Degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Turf Management or closely related field
