Roles / Responsibilities

The Tax Manager will serve as a member of the Federal Income Tax Audit Team. This team is responsible for the management of the federal income tax audit of Koch Industries, Inc. and its subsidiaries. The Federal Income Tax Audit Team interacts with the Internal Revenue Service and works with the business tax leaders to respond to IRS inquiries. The Team also presents adjustments as identified by business groups to ensure accurate reporting of tax liabilities and implements processes to effectively report such discoveries. The Tax Manager will be expected to perform the following functions:

• Coordinate day-to-day requests of IRS, contacting business tax leaders and overseeing the gathering of requested information.
• Provide guidance and leverage to business groups to assist in responding to IRS inquiries and presenting tax adjustments.
• Regularly coordinate with Tax Controller and business tax leaders to ensure accountability of taxes associated with audit adjustments.
• Perform computation of tax liability and report findings to tax leaders and management upon the completion of each audit.
• Provide information to State Tax Team at conclusion of audit to enable the timely preparation of amended state tax returns.
• Monitor potential IRS procedural developments, determine the impact to the company, and develop a process to implement changes

Work Experience/ Skills & Education REQUIRED

• 5+ years experience in International, Corporate and/or Partnership Tax
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience in developing new processes and/or improving current processes
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate working knowledge of tax returns
• Must possess one of the following: Bachelor of Accounting or Finance, Masters of Accounting, Finance or Taxation.

Work Experience/ Skills & Education PREFERRED

• Masters Degree in Tax or Accounting
• CPA certification
• Previous major CPA firm or large multi-national corporation experience
