Our client is a multi-billion dollar global aerospace manufacturer of cabin interior products who is experiencing significant growth. They have a number of exciting positions available.Location: Lenexa or Wichita, KS
Key Responsibilities:
- As staff specialist, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities that are to be carried out by others.
- Represents the Certification and Structures team in design reviews.
- Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEMs and regulatory agencies.
- Reviews and approves design changes from a certification perspective.
- Leads test activities such as Dynamic, Static, Reliability/Cycle, Environmental, and Flammability.
- Performs material selection and material specification correlation.
- Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment when necessary data are insufficient, or confirmation by testing is advisable. Incumbent is recognized as a technical expert within the department or division of the company.
- Performs complex engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations
- Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects
- Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians
- Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints
- Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge with Airworthiness Standards Compliance (14CFR, Parts 23 and 25)
- Must be familiar with strengths of standard aviation materials
- Prior experience working in the aerospace industry, specifically with aircraft interiors
- Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations. Must be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external clients
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross-functional teams
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs
