Outbound Logistics Analyst at Topeka

Overview:
The Outbound Logistics Analyst oversees the outbound flow of product from our distribution centers to the stores for Payless. The Outbound Logistics Analyst will work 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (four, 10-hour days) at our corporate headquarters in Topeka, KS.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide short and long term volume forecasts to linehaul carriers and pool points to insure that all freight moves as quickly and inexpensively as possible. This position requires daily analysis that reports to outside vendors and carriers
• Provide weekly and monthly updates and direction to carriers on resolving issues and improvement projects
• Assist in the development and implementation of outbound transportation projects that provide for continuous improvement
• Develop effective relationships with internal and external customers
• Oversee cost, service and transit time for the outbound team
• Compiles and monitors weekly outbound performance/service
• Coordinates and implements new outbound providers
• Performs audits to ensure proper payments are made and administers adjustments when needed
• Liaison with merchandising group providing coordination for new store set up and load group changes
• Sources new providers to provide the best service and cost.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Qualified candidate must have a bachelors degree in Business or related field
• Technical skills – Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Prodcics is helpful
• Experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics is helpful
• Ability to meet daily, weekly and yearly deadlines while coordination with other departments.
• Must have the ability to prioritize and organize with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills,  one who is self-motivated and has the ability to make decisions on their own
• This candidate must be able to manage multiple competing tasks effectively and efficiently
• Candidate must have a big-team mentality with the ability to look outside the box for ideas and solutions
