Reporting Relationships:
Nursing Faculty will report to a Dean of Nursing. The Dean of Nursing is accountable to the National Dean of Nursing who reports to the Vice President for Nursing.
Responsibilities:
Nursing Faculty is a brilliant position for a nurse who has the passion and desire to impact the quality and safety of nursing education. The employee will leverage his/her experience and knowledge of their field to set the stage for the success of these career-oriented future nurses. Through implementing and engaging the student within the program; Nursing Faculty will play an integral role in the success and overall positive experience for students of Rasmussen College.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Lecture and provide clinical instruction to motivate students to actively participate in their educational process
• Encourage classroom discussion, outside assignments and research
• Formative and timely feedback to students regarding their clinical, lab and classroom performance
• Participate in curriculum implementations and meetings
• Review syllabi prior to implementing program(s) to current and in compliance with College requirements
• Identify and refer students for tutoring and remediation when appropriate
• Submit grades in a timely manner
• Demonstrate capacity to teach and facilitate a diverse and cultural mix of student
• Demonstrate competency in preparation and follow-up in all daily teaching assignments
• Utilize wherever possible, methods which combine to make writing, communication, critical thinking, and general education concepts relevant across the curriculum
• Demonstrate sound knowledge, development, and implementation of tests, examinations and other forms of learning measurement appropriate to the course or field
• Work with Dena and Director of Curriculum
• Create, and update course and instructional materials on a regular basis
• Identify the course sequencing and laddering process for courses and programs
Requirements:
• Minimum of a Masters degree in Nursing
• Prior teaching experience in a School of Nursing desired
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a registered Nurse
• Active RN License in the State of the position
• Ability to travel locally to assist students with clinical components of program
