The Copywriter/Proofreader chosen for this position will join a passionate Brand Messaging team that serves as the voice of the leading Direct Sales Sterling Silver Jewelry Company in the world. This talented, dedicated and experienced candidate will take a lead role in ensuring message accuracy of all marketing materials. The ideal candidate will spend 50% of his/her time writing original content and 50% of his/her time proofreading and editing all of Silpada Designs printed and electronic documents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop an understanding of the company and incorporate that understanding intoeffective and creative copy for marketing, sales and promotional materials, catalogs, mailings, websites, e-mails, social media and other collateral.

• Translate writing requests and business topics into relevant, interesting and witty copy. Several writing styles are required including technical, empowering, fashion oriented, product marketing, journalistic and some internal communications.
• Ensure through all initiatives that Silpada Designs brand essence is delivered with consistent messaging and persuasion among all materials.
• Generate a positive company and brand image for Silpada Designs by safeguarding the quality and accuracy of all collateral materials.
• Proactively review copy to ensure accuracy, timeliness and relevancy of information and provide recommendations for enhancement, expansion and refreshment of content.
• Provide proofreading and editing support to marketing team members.
• Perform complete reads of materials to ensure consistent style and voice" of Silpada Designs, correct grammar and consistent presentation of names/acronyms.
• Must approve all post production print materials.
• Perform multiple tasks designed to support the editorial and copywriting process.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree required in Journalism, English or related field and 3+ years of professional writing and/or proofreading experience required.
• Strong knowledge of and interest in good English practices with respect to grammar, punctuation, spelling, composition and style, as normally acquired through specialized training or college-level courses in English, Journalism or Communications..
• Proven experience in creative, analytical and conceptual writing and editing.
• Motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and attention to fine details.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects are essential.
• Willingness to work both independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
