Job Description
This position provides ongoing operational support of daily, weekly, and monthly financial processes regarding our Division of Health Care Finance (DHCF) contract and serves as the main contact for DHCFs Finance and Budget department. The customer requires the position to be located in Topeka, KS.
- Support daily, week and monthly member billing and collection processes of the interChange Premium Billing and Collections system through the production/review of billing statements, member accounts, bank and client reports.
- Manage daily wire transfers, account adjustments and refund requests between Bank of America and Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA) client using Bank of Americas secure business website to download files, process wire transfer requests and support direct communication with KHPAs Finance and Budget team.
- Serve as a dedicated financial point of contact for HP Enterprise Services (HPES) Member Services and DHCF. Be available in person, by email, 1-800 line and direct phone line to research and resolve billing disputes related to premiums and payment for all programs.
- Execute ad hoc financial reports based on client and leadership parameters using iC PB&C data and/or Business Objects.
- Interact with customer, HPES users, and HPES leadership to develop and implement processes, strategies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree in accounting, leadership or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree experience.
- Experience using production applications or financial software to support daily, weekly or monthly financial processes.
- Experience posting and balancing accounts including bank reconciliations, wire transfers, disposition of funds, and financial reporting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate strong communications skills (both written and verbal). Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse audience consisting of member service agents, DHCF (Division of Health Care Finance) and HP Enterprise Services leadership.
- Must be able to develop and document new financial processes as well as continually refine processes to maximize efficiency.
- Prior leadership experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Extensive PC (personal computer) skills with emphasis in Excel.
- Ability to build custom financial report queries using client parameters.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and multi-task.
- Ability to change work priorities quickly.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week when required.
- Ability to work independently without frequent supervision.
