3G Core Test Engineer at Leawood

Job Description

Position DescriptionWe are looking for a Systems Integration and Test engineer to join our core CDMA/LTE/IMS engineering team. He or she will be a key contributor on a multi-functional team of R&D, Integration, and Field Support Engineers to introduce CDMA/LTE/IMS products to a Wireless Carrier. He or she will be responsible for testing CDMA/LTE/IMS core network including protocols and signaling/data over those interfaces. He or she will gain knowledge of the software and hardware implementation of the system. He or she will also be responsible for analyzing the customer requirements, design documents and converting them into test plans/test cases. He or she will perform test activities in Samsung lab as well the customer?s lab and field deployments. Travel to the customer and field locations will occur as necessary to perform job functions. Interaction with the customer will also be necessary.QualificationsExperience with wireless core networks, architecture and protocolsStrong knowledge in CDMA, LTE, IMS standards and network architectureExperience with wireless data and IP networks Expertise in system integration and validationExpertise in core network validation. Understanding of core network design and architecture is requiredExpertise in testing various protocols for interoperability testing CDMA, LTE and IMS core systemExperience with working on switches/routers including configuration/troubleshooting/monitoringExpertise in creating test plans for system level, subsystem level and feature level testing.Experience with performance analysis and troubleshooting the issuesExperience with CDMA core system protocols such as IOS A1/A2, IS41, ISUP, SIP/SIP-T, MEGACO, RTP Experience with LTE core system protocol such as S1-MME, S1-U, S6a, S11, Gx, and GyExperience with IMS core system protocol such as SIP, RTP, SIGTRAN and MEGACOExperience with IP QoS, End-to-End QoSExperience with MIP, Radius/Diameter and TCP/IP suite is desiredAbility to translate standards into test plansAbility to convert customer requirements into test plansAbility to perform simulations to analyze capacity and capabilities of the systemsGeneral QualificationsCDMA , LTE or IMS background requiredExperience with protocol analyzers, wireshark, etc.Experience with Cisco routers/switches3GPP & 3GPP2 understandingUnderstanding of HW as well as SW architectureAble to work hands on with the equipment in the vendor and customer?s labAbility to work and communicate with a broad set of team members of varying knowledge baseAbility to travel sporadically during the project BSEE with 5 to 6 years experience is requiredMSEE with 3 years experience is preferred We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
