Job Description
The successful Medical Assistant X-ray Technician candidate will be part ofa team dedicated to improving the delivery and quality of health care that is patient-centered, safe and effective in a fast-paced environment. The Medical Assistant X-ray Technician is responsible for taking x-rays and will assist with vitals, blood draws, and lab work as well.Primary Responsibilities:Reports to the clinic manager.Performs x-rays and EKGs.Accurately collect and record patient data including information about the reason they are presenting to the facility and previous medical conditions.Takes vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight and temperature and documents all information in the patients chart.Preparing patients for examinations.Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilizations as required.Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.Preparing and administering injections/vaccinations.Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant.Assists physician and physician assistant in exam rooms with minor procedures.Provide excellent customer service .All other duties as assigned by clinical manager.Job Requirements
Required:High school diploma or equivalent.X-ray certified. Must be ARRT registered and MRT certified by the applicable state Department of Health.Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain credentials at all times.CPR certified or willing to obtain upon hire.Effective communication skills.Demonstrate accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.Takes initiative, creative, has problem solving ability, is adaptable, and flexible.Ability to work in fast-paced environment.Successful candidate must submit to TB testing and vaccinations required by company policy.Preferred:Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or 3+ years of military trained MA experience.Minimum 1+ year ofclinical medical assistant experience with emphasis on excellent customer service, ability to multi-task, work as part of a collaborative team, and possess effective communication and decision making skills.Phlebotomist certificate preferred.Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience highly preferred.UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
