Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a talented Process Engineer at our Emporia, Kansas facility.

 

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, use engineering principles and a variety of problem solving methodologies to observe and analyze processes and parts of processes in order to develop cost effective solutions to technical problems. Will be responsible for multiple process related projects that vary in size and complexity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned)

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes in schedules and priorities.
  • Willingness to spend a great deal of time in the plat observing processes and running experiments on processes.
  • Proficient in a variety of problem solving methodologies - 6 sigma tools, root cause analysis, fishbone diagram, design of experiments, etc.
  • Prepare detailed plans for assigned projects.  Schedule work to meet project completion dates.
  • Experienced with data gathering and analysis
  • Coordinate manpower from other sections and from within process engineering assigned to projects.
  • Review progress and evaluate results. Make changes in methods, design or equipment where necessary.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in engineering from a credited institution.  At least three years engineering experience preferably in a glass or ceramics manufacturing environment.
  • Must be computer literate. Experience with MS Office is required. Experience with MS Project, Minitab and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Should be familiar with automotive quality systems (QS 9000, etc).
  • Should have or be willing to learn PLC and other process related software.
  • Must be able to clearly present ideas and progress reports in written and verbal format.
  • Occasionally perform tasks not described in this position description in order to meet the requirements of this position.
  • Domestic and International travel for project related benchmarking and technical exchange when required.
