As an Interagency (IA) Program Specialist with an emphasis in Training, you will serve as the primary intermediary between IA players and the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) by managing work and services performed by support contractors who perform functions as IA role players and trainers. You will perform the following duties:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for a variety of U.S. Government Agency personnel involved in the planning and design of exercise scenarios and trainees during their training at MCTP.
- Assisting MCTP planners in all phases for the development, coordination and delivery of mutually beneficial scenarios and exercises that support both IA and Army training objectives and outcomes.
- Directing the work of role-playing IA contractors to ensure a realistic training environment.
- Communicating with other U.S. Government Agencies to improve IA training in the field of reconstruction, stabilization and humanitarian operations.
- Liaisons directly with other U.S. Government Agencies to improve IA training in the field of reconstruction, stabilization, and humanitarian operations.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as field experience in tactics, techniques and procedures of interagency training exercises in the military theater of operations within the last 2 years, and experience working with interagency personnel to execute military training exercises.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills and abilities) in the following areas:
- Knowledge of Interagency Training Operations
- Ability to provide a realistic training environment
- Ability to act as a liaison with U.S. Government Agencies
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-13 grade (or equivalent).
