MISSION STATEMENTIn this capacity, the employee implements Saint Francis Community Services, Inc. (SFCS), mission to be an instrument of healing for children, youth and families in spirit, mind and body, so they live responsibly and productively with purpose and hope.
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The CFO directs the operations of Financial Services in accordance with the policies and goals established by the Board of Directors, contract requirements and federal and state guidelines. CFO is a member of the management team providing strategic leadership for the financial and business operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education and Licensure/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Master’s preferred.
Minimum Job Requirements
Must be 21 years of age.
Must pass a drug screen, KBI, MVR and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check.
Lifting requirement of 30 - 50 pounds.
Must have a valid KS driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferably at the manager level.
Preferred - Senior level management experience.

Essential Functions
Provides strategic leadership and direction to the Financial Services Department.
Ensures the department functions efficiently and effectively with talented trained staff able to perform their positions.
Prepares evaluations of employees under direct supervision.
Participates as a member of the Executive Management Team, provides long and short range goal setting and strategic direction for the agency.
Provides strategic leadership for the financial, HR, IT and business operations of the organization.
Works with the management team and Board to develop and implement the strategic plan.
Establishes and implements accounting practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles as required for the proper recording and control of the financial affairs of SFCS Corporations.
Directs the cash management functions of the agency.
Ensures strong internal controls and continually looks for more efficient and effective systems and processes.
Completes the final review and analysis of the financial statements/reports prepared for the Board and management staff.
Responsible for the development, approval and monitoring of the annual budget for all SFCS corporations.
Responsible for ensuring that the annual external audit is completed.
Works with the Executive Management Team to manage corporate operations in accordance with the budget as approved by the Board.
Prepares monthly financial reporting for the Board.
Works with money managers to maximize SFCS’s investments and assets.
Manages the physical properties of all SFCS corporations.
Serves as staff consultant to the BA Committee.
Prepares timely reports on financial and business matters, as required by the Business Administration and Strategic Planning Committees and the Board. Makes financial presentation at Board meetings.
Serves as Assistant Treasurer for the Board of Directors.
Serves on Board Committees as assigned.
Adheres to the mission and philosophy of Saint Francis Community Services
Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management.
Follows and adheres to all pertinent SFCS SOPs, rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and, federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, etc.
Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
Non-Essential Functions

Prefer to have a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year.
