Production Assembler at Kansas

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for performing under limited supervision in the assembly of ground support equipment. This position will also be providing instructional lead to assembly workers pertaining to the assembly of dashes in towing tractors by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Diagnoses, rebuilds and repair vehicles and equipment

Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment

Installs lights and wiring harness, tail lights, head lights, hydraulic brake system and brake lines

Assembles front axle, rear axle, and assembles and installs front and rear tire suspension

Installs side panels, hood deck plate, center tunnel, shifter, hitches and cab

Sub-assemblies front dash, engine, transmission

Sub-assemblies windshield, doors, trim and wiper motor, beacons

Operates any equipment needed to perform job

Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

Inspects own work performed prior to Quality Inspection and Final Inspection Reports

Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Supervisor

Prepares tractors for final inspection

Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Requirements:

Must Have a High school Degree

Minimum 1-3 months certified training or equivalent work experience

Three years experience with hand and air tools prior to mechanical assembly of automobiles

Electrical systems knowledge, including computerized induction/ignition systems

Able to read electrical schematics and indentify colored wires

Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance

Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs

Mechanical design and fabrication
