DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Show an active commitment to BNSFs goal of an injury free workplace and champion this idea with BNSF forces, suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
Update existing and create new Signal Standards driven by the Standards committee and Signal department leadership.
Maintain the tracking of requests for changes to signal standards for construction.
Maintain Signal Standards parts database. As well as review and coordinate EMesa availability of material with Strategic Sourcing.
Support field personnel in the interpretation of standard drawings
Review, test, and prepare presentations on new equipment for approval for use in the Signal department.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
Two to three years of formal technical training.
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of FRA Part 236 and 234 rules and regulations, General Code of Operating Rules, all applicable Safety Rules and computer terminal applications (PC/DOS applications).
Must be a team player, possess leadership skills and have the ability to promote participative teamwork among signal personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Five years of experience in railroad signal design, construction or maintenance practices.
Experience with Microstation or similar CAD software
RELOCATION: Relocation may be provided based on business need.
TRAVEL: Travel may be required.
