Our electronics technicians apply electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to repair and newly overhaul aviation products returned by Garmin customers. Attention to detail, ability to work with others and complex thinking is a must if you want to be a part of this first-class team.

We are looking for an Electronics Technician-Inspector for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. This technician would work the second shift, from 2:30 to 11 p.m.

As an Electronics Technician-Inspector, youll trace circuits of defective units to locate defects and repair units to the component level, discuss layout and assembly problems with management to clarify problems encountered while repairing product, and recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to improve assembly, maintenance, test method or product performance.

Other essential functions include:

  • Analyze and interpret test data
  • Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components to effect repairs on units
  • Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data
  • Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmins Attendance Policy)
  • Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
  • Train/mentor new associates on the testing, troubleshooting and repair of units

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates for this role will possess an Associate of Arts degree in Electronics Technology, Electronics, Engineering or a substantially similar field, or electronics related Military training or completion of a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelors degree in Electronics Technology or substantially related field. Must possess demonstrated experience and proficiency in component level troubleshooting.

Other requirements include:

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate proficient mechanical aptitude with a strong attention to detail
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Demonstrated multitasking ability to improve efficiency while maintaining quality
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility

Candidates with 2 or more years related Electronics Technician or Engineering Technician experience are desired.
