Tasked with facilitating and coordinating new product introductions, our coordinators meet with representatives from across the company purchasing, planning, manufacturing, marketing and engineering to ensure everything related to materials planning, purchasing and manufacturing is completed accuratelyand on time. We are looking for a full time New Product Introduction Coordinator for aviation products at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas.

In this role, essential functions will include:

Serving as the Operations coordinator for new products in PID (Product in Development) for Olathe distributed aviation products. Lead and facilitate the New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings with representatives from Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing, Marketing and Engineering, coordinating Garmin associates during development, pilot, prototype, and ramp-up of manufacturing
Manage the phase in aviation manufactured or procured end items to support Marketing and Engineering initiatives. Provide reports to management on manufacturing timelines, delivery performance and aircraft platform program status.
Work with the Purchasing or Engineering to ensure timely delivery of key components for manufacturing pilot run and mass production dates
Update and help resolve any ECO issues concerning QA compliance for new product introduction shipments.
Assist in the planning, ordering and delivery of assigned finished good products to ensure on-time delivery of experimental orders across all levels of the organization

Due to the amount of resources and expense exhausted in training for this position, a minimum of one year from the start of this position will be required before an associate is eligible for a job transfer.


Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess the following education, experience and skills:

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Engineering or a substantially similar quality or operations related field
Must possess demonstrated knowledgeable of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)/Master Production Schedule (MPS) process and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) process
Must possess demonstrated knowledge of ISO9000 manufacturing requirements and ability to assess supplier capabilities.
Must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in material management, production planning, purchasing or distribution preferably in electronics manufacturing
Must possess strong and proficient computer skills including MS Office applications
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are a must! Qualified candidates must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others and be a driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems.
Other key requirements include:
Excellent time management and follow-up skills
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a team environment and work across functional and organizational boundaries
Must possess previous project management experience

Candidates with AS9100 Quality Standard knowledge and experience and/or are certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are preferred. 5+ years experience in a electronics or discrete manufacturing environment and/or previous supervisory, leadership or team facilitator experience also a plus!
