Job Description
TheTechnical Project Leaderin the Systems department will be responsible for leading and completing projects in the Core Services team. Programming environments include PERL, SOAP, Oracle, XML, Linux, PL/SQL, C, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. As a Technical Project Leader, the candidate will manage the workflow, timeline and communication associated with the workflow for the team, ensuring that the projects and tasks within the team are completed successfully and timely.
The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of the Programmer:
Coach and develop an effective Core Services team. Increase department performance through motivation, monitoring and effective communication.
Manage and monitor workflow, timelines and risks within the team, communicating to upper management and stakeholders the status of the tasks and projects.
Create systematic and procedural efficiencies for the team, ensuring the timely delivery of tasks and projects.
Serve as the main contact for the team, with the ability to estimate work effort and potential delivery dates.
Analyze requirements and work with Business Analysts, Programmers and Data Architects on application design
Work with the Data Architect to develop high performing SQL and PL/SQL
Stay current with web development, PERL, Oracle, Apache, mod_perl, SOAP and XML best practices
Participate in both design and code peer reviews
Accept and complete projectsand other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Document status and keep stakeholders informed of progress
Maintain application performance, security, and coding standards
Good problem solving skills in a team or independent environment
Job Requirements
College degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience developing browser-based applications and websites
3+ years experience in PERL, XML, RDBMS (Oracle preferred), SOAP / WSDL, XSLT, XSD and Apache / mod_perl
3+ years in a supervisory role
Highly motivated and organized
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks
Must be able to demonstrate ability to take an objective and devise and implement a viable plan of action in pursuit of the objective
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to interface with external developers and users
Good C programming language skills
In-depth knowledge of Apache / mod_perl
In-depth knowledge of SOAP client and server / WSDL.
Good knowledge of XML / XSLT / XSD
Demonstrated ability to work in both a team and an independent environments
Detailed understanding of the software development process
Familiarity with relational databases
Excellent time management skills
Attention to details
Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience with LINUX
Familiarity with the following:
Network socket / internet socket communication
SQL performance tuning
PGP Encryption
BASH Shell scripting
EDI
Payment processing systems and interfaces ( TSYS, Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
