Trading Support Accountant at Wichita

Job Description

POET Ethanol Products is looking for an experienced accountant to join our growing team. In our Trading Support role, you will work across a broad cross section of disciplines in our business to produce daily position and profit and loss reporting for our trading group, management, and financial reporting area. 

Responsibilities Include

• Assembling contract, shipment, and settlement information for physical and derivative contracts into a daily position and profit & loss statement
• Assist in system development of trading support tools by communicating business requirements to our IT group and by testing the system output
• Assisting in the enforcement of our trading authorities policy
• Preparing mark to market entries and reconciliation functions with the relevant systems as needed
• Communicating developments in the business to the relevant parties on a real time basis

Job Requirements

• Proven track record of understanding trading concepts
• Strong communication skills with an ability to work confidently under pressure
• Robust problem solving abilities with a history of proactively identifying problems and independently implementing solutions
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience in analyzing large amounts of data
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
