This position is located at Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Pollution Prevention and Cleanup Branch.

- KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Physical exam is required.
- Accepts materials and wastes from customers andfills out proper paperwork, issues useable materials to customers whileproviding exceptional customer service.
- Packs and/or consolidates materials and waste for proper disposal IAWState and Federal regulations.
- Supportsthe Hazardous Material Management Program (HMMP) by performing bar-codescanning of hazardous materials received, reissued and/or disposed of.
- Inputs hazardous material/waste receipt anddisposal data into databases that provide the status of all materials andwastes accepted and stored at the HMPC.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Experience required: Toqualify, applicants with current or prior permanent Federal Service mustpossess one year of specialized experienced at the GS-07 grade level (Specializedexperience is further defined as understanding of established principles,concepts, and methods of environmental protection and practical knowledge oflaws, regulations, policies and procedures related to environmental protection.)
Education Substitution: Masters degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
If subsituting education for experience, transcripts must be included in your application package.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledgeof environmental protection rules, regulations and procedures.
Abilityto compile data and reports.
Abilityto collect samples and environmental data and monitor results.
Ability to communicate orally and inwriting.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
