System Administrator - Unix at Overland Park

Job Description

Responsibilities: A Kforce client is seeking a System Administrator in Overland Park, Kansas (KS). The Systems Administrator administers and configures application server clusters and web servers, as well as setting up server securities. The candidate is also required to investigate, report, and document exceptions for development teams.Roles:

• Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
• Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
• Serves as a front line interface to users with technical issues
• Interacts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff
• Conducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies
• May install new software, perform troubleshooting, and grant permissions to applications and training users

Job Requirements

System Administrator Qualifications (required unless noted otherwise):

• 5 years of Unix experience
• 2 years of IBM AIX & Linux experience
• Strong TCPIP networking fundamental skills
• Understanding of Unix memory management and performance analysis
• Perl or Shell scripting skills
• Bachelors degree and 3 or more years of experience are required
