Summary:
Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. No formal supervisory responsibilities but may function as a lead on projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans and implements engineering projects, including defining the project scope, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, per customer requirements. Define specific technical goals that relate to the justification of the project. Define method and plan for project execution consistent with the business need and justification. Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project. Identify key risk areas and potential resolution plan and related impact. Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget and scope Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages. Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Directs integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Prepares interim and completion project reports. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management. Ensure equipment and production lines meet Kerry, GMP and ergonomic standards. Coordinate plant training needs to ensure a smooth transition and project closing.
Position
Job Requirements
Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline required. Lean manufacturing experience required. Proven leadership in a lean manufacturing environment. Experience implementing TPM and/or Lean initiatives (TPM, OEE, 5S, Center lining). Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs. 3+ years Supervisory / Management experience. Ability to organize data and information to share with and motivate team. Food industry knowledge helpful, extrusion experience preferred. 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Project Engineering skills required. Experience working in an MP2 environment desired. Strong computer application skills, network and PC business application software. Strong mechanical and electrical skills. Sound financial skills and understanding. Critical thinking skills, strategy development, and implementation experience required.We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
