Nework Support Technician at Overland Park

Job Description

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Support Technician. This is for a long-term contract position with our Fortune 500 Telecommunications Industry customer in Overland Park, KS.


Description:

The chosen candidate will monitor scheduled maintenance and provide break/fix services in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Network Operational Support activities per company guidelines
• Perform product and service monitoring for an operational network
• Provide 24x7 support in a control center environment
• Raise, assign and manage network trouble tickets if needed
• Isolate problems and engage fix agents for resolution
• Manage page and e-mail notifications for network events
• Answer phone calls and route appropriately for network events
• Monitor customer care tickets and call volumes
• Manage the event status board and network event board
• Work under supervisory guidance to ensure network availability
• Perform other tasks and assignments as required with mentoring assistance

Job Requirements

• Familiar with large scale telecommunication networks (SONET, DWDM, and DCS experience preferred).
• Prior Wireline or Wireless NOC experience.
• Engineering/Installation or Field Operations experience.
• Excellent communication skills, Quick learner, Ability to multi-task, Basic PC skills.
• Willingness to work shift work and weekends
