Job Description



Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health care reimbursement consulting firm. We specialize in providing audit, accounting, data management and consulting services to government-sponsored health care programs (primarily state Medicaid agencies and the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services). We operate 19 offices nationwide and have approximately 550 associates. We have 30+ years of experience assisting our government clients with complex health care reimbursement and provider compliance issues.

The IT Developer/Analyst will manage and expand a firm-wide data management program that enables end-users to upload millions of claims to be processed, cleaned, and manipulated to produce meaningful reports for staff, management, and clients. The entire process is 100% self-documenting and repeatable, thus fully transparent. While the number of end-users is small, it handles billions of dollars in state budgets. Its currently being utilized in 10+ contracts, totaling over 4 million dollars.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop object oriented programming
  • Work with various teams to develop marketable applications
  • Be first tier support for a firm-wide database and audit support application
  • Mentor other staff members
  • Optimize workflow; develop validation tests, reviews and training information
  • Communicate with other programmers and end-users
  • Contribute to group knowledge and code base
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, determine needs and project scope
  • Provide estimates for development effort needed
  • Build quality business solutions in a timely manner
  • Work remotely with IT team who reside in different offices
  • Manage multiple assigned tasks/projects with minimal supervision
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience required
  • 1 year of related work experience required, 2 years preferred
  • Experience with object oriented programming ( Java / .Net / C++ / etc.) and database server required
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred
  • Desire to learn new technologies and enhance existing ones
  • Ability to understand complex object models, data validation, and large datasets required
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and mentor others
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and manage projects simultaneously within established deadlines
  • Ability to execute and draft technical instructions and guidelines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and assertive
  • Maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders and team members
