This position will be a key member of the financial analysis systems team within the Financial Planning and Analysis Department. This team is responsible for configuring and maintaining the Hyperion applications used to support enterprise wide financial and sales analytics, forecast and budget cycles, and reporting.

The individual holding this position must have a strong background in development and maintenance supporting Hyperion (Version 11) modules including: Financial Reporting Studio, Workspace, Planning, Essbase, and Calc Manager. A successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to take concepts and develop detailed execution plans; take initiative to continuously expand knowledge base and suggest ways to improve business and technical processes; and possess effective communication skills. Responsibilities:

• Provide technical analysis and development for the Hyperion suite of products including Essbase, Planning, Workforce Planning, Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management, EPMA, and Web Analysis
• Partner with the various stakeholders within IT, Finance and across Waddell & Reed business divisions to gather requirements, design application, integrate solutions, and execute project management activities
• Identify and design reporting solutions to meet end-user needs for budgeting, forecasting, profitability and other management reporting
• Evaluate and recommend solutions utilizing Hyperion (or other) tools to improve existing system processes and reporting
• Identify and communicate opportunities for cost saving, and process efficiency within the scope of the financial systems work
• Ensure all processes are effectively documented to support SOX requirements and department cross training

Support Finance community as necessary with month end close activities

• Provide training and support to end-user group

Job Requirements

Experience/Technical Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of combined accounting and/or reporting experience
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years hands on Hyperion Essbase experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or related field required, advance degree preferred.
• Hands on experience:
  • Building and maintaining BSO/ASO Essbase applications, Planning forms, and Financial Reporting Studio reports
  • Creating and supporting Calc Scripts
  • Creating and supporting Partitions
  • MDX
  • SmartView
  • Substitution Variables
