Business Analyst at Topeka

Job Description

AIC is currently seeking a Business Analyst for a client in Topeka, KS. This individual must be proficient ingathering requirements, creating specs, workflows, documenting projects, and use cases. Anytesting experience is a plus. This is a 1 year+ consulting opportunity. The salary will fall between $55,000-68,000 depending on benefits and experience.

The Business Analyst specialistwill assist with project/release direction and support including research, analysis, review, development, staff program area, testing, implementation and monitoring of system re-write. Acts as a liaison between Management and Development team for project / release related items. Ensures correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for determining how changing business needs will affect the system. Understands the role of the system in the big picture and provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the system.

Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and data requirements. Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring that the Management understands the final results of the project

Serve as the application subject matter expert as it relates to needs, information and service expectations. Understanding of Project Life Cycle methodology (PLM) and testing methodology/procedures.

Ensures current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and / or performs business testing of system modifications. Help plan, conduct and manage Usability Tests and other related research.

Lead and participate in project requirement and deliverable walkthroughs.

Work with the Project Manager regarding planning/scheduling and resource allocation.

Job Requirements

Required 4 Year degree and 2-5 years of experience with business analysis or systems development, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience

3+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, testing and computer technology applications

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Ability to conduct an analysis of business needs, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas, conferring with management leaders, program staff documenting and making verbal and written presentations
- Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology (PLM) and testing methodology/procedures
- Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track test issues and report on test results
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
