Assistant Manager – Operations Manager (Management Training)

Job Description

Waterway has the Best Management Training Program in the Country! We offer a highly structured training program / career path that truly makes sense and moves you forward. Every rank of our Management Training Program is a checklist, which means you’ll always know how you’re doing as well as exactly what you need to do to get promoted! We work with you every step of the way while training you to Be the Boss.

Waterway managers are paid salary from day one and your first 90 days are spent as a Manager Trainee working one on one with the Operations Manager / General Manager at a location.  Youll spend your first two months learning the basics of shift management from them while simultaneously mastering our four hourly positions.  Then youll "practice" being a full-fledged manager for a month (with your General Manager right behind you every step of the way) before going "live" as an Assistant Manager the following month.

New managers can expect to earn two promotions during their first year and be ready to run a Waterway location as an Operations Manager / General Manager within two to four years.  Your hard work, ambition and dedication determines how far up the ladder you can go.  We always promote from within and the sky’s the limit.  Our “ceiling" is quite high.  The opportunity for advancement continues beyond the Operations Manager / General Manager rank!

What can you expect as a Waterway Manager?

  • An active, outdoor, fast-paced work environment
  • Work alongside other great managers while supervising high quality hourly employees
  • You’ll have the cleanest car of everyone you know

Each Waterway location is run by a top-notch team of 3 to 5 managers who are in charge of all facets of the business as well as their store’s success.  They are not glorified car washers.  They run the show.  They do the paperwork.  They open and close the store.  They work together to train, coach, and supervise their 40 to 70 hourly employees.  They engage and impress the 10,000 to 20,000 customers that they see each month.  They do it all!

Additionally, Waterway managers do a lot of marketing each month in their local communities by keeping up relationships with local businesses, schools and various organizations.  We’re always trying to bring in new business while showcasing all of the other services and programs we offer.
