Rigid Industrial Packaging & Services serves a variety of industries including automotive; food, beverage and bottled water; industrial products; mining; oils, lubricants and petroleum; pharmaceutical, specialty chemicals such as adhesives and sealants; agrochemicals, cleaning products and industrial coatings; paint and pigments and wire products.
As a Maintenance Supervisor at the RIPS plant in Winfield, Kansas, you will be the primary resource for the facilitys maintenance function. You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and improvement programs.
- Responsible for and or performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipments and systems electrical and mechanical.
- Recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
- Evaluates equipment improvements and collected detailed data; analyzes data and reports results.
- Performs equipment failure analyses including preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnose difficult, infrequent problems with equipment.
- Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and writes equipment maintenance procedures.
- May support or otherwise supervise the safety and environmental initiatives within the location.
- Partners with OpEx Core Team members on lean manufacturing projects and other initiatives.
- Must display leadership as well as planning and project management skills.
- This position must direct two or more technical and or production personnel.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility for maintenance schedules and repairs.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance and machine improvement programs.
- Purchases parts, equipment, etc. and hires outside contractors plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades as needed.
- Assists with in-house design and fabrication of equipment.
- Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits.

- Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, ensures positive employee relations and reviews the performance of employees.
- May install new equipment and train personnel on proper use.
- May instruct employees on safety and occupational hazard control procedures.
- May write specifications and obtain quotes for equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High School education with significant on the job equivalent experience.
- Technical School preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5 years experience performing maintenance functions.
- Prefer experience with mechanical equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial electricity.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
Job Requirements
- Ability to operate machines, hand-tools, and electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical outlets, wiring, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment.
- Excellent project management planning skills.
- Must display leadership skills and may be required to work on-call.
- Must also have the ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
