Engineering Technician/Technical Writer

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Engineering Technician / Technical Writer Department: Engineering

Reports to: Manufacture Engineering Manager

 

Job summary

• Assist engineering and manufacturing in prototype and product development

• Assist engineering in creating and developing / maintaining product work instructions and material specifications.

 

 

Job Requirements

Principal Accountabilities

• Assist engineering and manufacturing in the development of prototypes and select products during the manufacturing cycle.

••Develop visual work instructions based on proto type design information and manufacturing results.

• Assist engineering in creating specification drawings.

• Assist engineering in work instruction maintenance.

••Work as part of a team to reduce waste and improve product flow.

 

Minimum requirements

• Proficiency using AutoCAD and Solid works program

• Capable of desk - top publishing and taking / utilizing digital photographs

• Excellent writing skills and ability to document/explain technical processes to non-technical people

• Self starter who can innovatively work to meet deadlines

• Demonstrate conceptual thinking skills

• Capable of working some occasional overtime as required.

• Capable of performing additional clerical work in support of above duties

• PageMaker / In-Design program experience a plus

• Attention to detail a critical attribute

 

 

 

Required Experience

• Two to three years of related training and / or experience

Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
