Business Car Porter/server at Topeka

Salary Range:30,000-37,000

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The main responsibility of this position is guest and team member safety and satisfaction. This is accomplished through continual training, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Pre-Trip:
    • Load supplies onto the business cars (heavy lifting and outside work in various weather conditions ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold on uneven surfaces)
    • Distribute and store supplies (heavy lifting, bending, and carrying large items through narrow hallways)
  • During Trips prior to receiving guest or after guest departure
    • Make beds
    • Clean rooms, dust throughout car, and clean windows
    • Scrub toilets, showers and sinks
    • Clean vestibules
    • Set up amenities in rooms
    • Set up guest gathering areas and dining areas
    • Polish silver and glassware
  • During Trips with guest on-board (10-17 hour days)
    • Load luggage
    • Give safety briefings
    • Attend to guest needs throughout the day
    • Keep guest rooms and general areas clean
    • Serve guest during meals
    • Wash and store glassware, flatware, and china
    • Reset guest rooms and turn down beds
    • Restock supplies as needed
  • Post Trip
    • Clean all cars and store items being left on cars
    • Load supplies onto the van for transport back to commissary
  • During down time in Topeka
    • Take inventory
    • Prepare for future trips
    • Clean and organize commissary
    • Complete post trip paperwork and expense accounts
    • Attend assorted training to enhance skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working with people, and able to speak in group situations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to work indoors as well as outside in various weather conditions ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold on uneven surfaces
  • Able to travel extensively (70% to 80%) with many trips lasting 10+ days; teams live and work on the Business Cars.
  • Trips average 10 days away from home with 3 to 5 days off between trips.
  • Able to work long work days- 10-17 hours at times when on duty

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Fine Dining & Concierge Service
  • Experience in Hospitality industry
  • A working knowledge of wines and wine service
  • An Associates degree or higher in Hospitality Management
