Job Description

This is a direct hire opportunity with our Kansas City, KS client. 

Systems Administrator – Team Lead
This position is responsible for providing world-class IT support for customers in a variety of ways. You will be leading a team of System Administrators who provide direct support to Kansas City based customers, managing multiple projects across various customers, serving as a mentor and escalation point for technical issues and communicating project status to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as Team Leader over 5 System Administrators providing support for multiple customers in metro-KC area
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Support to Junior Engineers and the Service Desk team
  • Provide Project Management oversight for all on-going project efforts
  • Participate in the scoping and creation of all project plans
  • Assist periodically (approx 25% of the time) on actual project execution
  • Serve as an escalation resource for the Service Desk team
  • Work with scheduling to ensure projects are completed on-time
  • Conduct daily project team debrief conference call
  • Participate in Customer Meetings and travel to customer sites as needed
  • Assist with pre-sales project scoping as needed
  • Complete 3 hours of volunteer work each Quarter

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years team leadership experience
  • 5-7+ years providing all or most of the following: 
    • Strong Microsoft Server and PC Support
    • Experience working with Exchange and SQL
    • Networking experience, including working with Cisco switches and firewalls
    • Desired Certifications: A+, Network+, Microsoft PC Certification (MCSA 2003 or MCTS Server 2008), Security+, Microsoft Server, CCNA
