Assist the Chief Actuary in preparing, updating, evaluating the theoretical soundness of, and documenting Economic Capital, Interest Rate Risk Management and Liability Stress Testing models. Assist in assumption setting, loss recognition testing and cash flow testing. Preparation of quarterly reports and information needed to complete the required filings and financial statements of an Insurance company. Assist entry level positions by showing them actuarial techniques and processes.
Essential Responsibilities
Application of actuarial techniques to insurance and reinsurance
Prepare actuarial compliance filings by collecting, summarizing, and validating data from a variety of data sources, populating forms, submitting filings with regulators, and responding to any resulting questions
Preparation of experience analyses of various product parameters for insurance products
Prepare periodic valuation of liabilities
Prepare projections of future product performance for use in various corporate analyses
Participate in quarterly and annual financial reporting, preparation of forecasts and analysis of results for insurance and reinsurance business
Assist in preparation of actuarial elements of Annual Statements for Insurance legal entities
Support operations team in review of data
Understand, reconcile and analyze inputs to actuarial work product from changes in underlying data
Document Actuarial processesJob Requirements
Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field
Minimum of seven (7) year of life or health actuarial experience
Minimum of Fellowship or career Associateship membership in Society of Actuaries or Canadian Institute of Actuaries
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of GAAP, Statutory and Tax reserving requirements with licensed jurisdictions
Working knowledge of valuation/projection software
Ability to complete complex actuarial processes accurately using fact-based analysis
Ability to work efficiently and accurately with large data sets
Ability to communicate complex issues

Desired Characteristics
Experience in economic capital, market consistent economic value or similar
Experience with applied statistics such as copulas, correlations, and regressions
Experience with preparing actuarial compliance filings
Experience in valuation of life and health insurance policies and systems
Proven ability to learn quickly, and to apply known concepts to new situations
Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and work within time constraints
Able to effectively and concisely communicate written, visual and verbal messages and to translate technical information to a non-technical audience
Attention to detail
