We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to oversee the operations for a Verizon Wireless retail outlet. In your role as a Retail Store Manager, you will manage and coach staff to ensure smooth operation and profitability of your assigned locations. Your position will involve a strong focus on selling, training and mentoring staff members, particularly in terms of creating the most positive and enjoyable overall experience for our customers.

Retail Store Manager – Store Management Associate (Wireless)Job Responsibilities

As a Retail Store Manager, you will work closely with the store staff to build business by providing attentive, helpful, and friendly service to create raving fans of Z Wireless’ customers. You will provide training, mentoring, and overall guidance for the staff, to meet or exceeds sales and performance goals. Also you will be responsible for inventory volume control, product ordering and staff. Managing audit compliance, overall profitability, and maintenance will be expected, while guiding operations of the location as if it were your own.

Specific duties for this position will include:

  • Meeting or exceeding all assigned sales and performance goals
  • Selling Verizon Wireless products and services
  • Engaging in discussion with customers, asking questions and listening intently in order to make the best recommendations for their wireless needs
  • Following up with customers through the use of thank you cards, phone calls, etc. in order to ensure satisfaction
  • Building relationships with customers, developing opportunities to cross sell other products and getting repeat business and referrals from customers
  • Handling all customer service issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Orienting, coaching, training and developing others
  • Guiding, directing and motivating subordinates
  • Evaluating information from employment interviews
  • Establishing employee performance standards
  • Conducting staff meetings
  • Hiring, discharging, transferring and promoting employees
  • Remaining flexible in your schedule in order to work with other stores in the local area as needed
  • Recommending personnel actions
  • Scheduling
  • Assisting in other tasks as assigned

As a Retail Store Manager, you must be self-motivated and aggressively driven to succeed, with a commitment to maximizing the performance of your assigned store. You must also have strong ability to train and mentor staff, pinpointing individual strengths and weaknesses, to aid in development. Important skills include excellent verbal and written communication, time-management, prioritization, and organization, while being highly detail-oriented. Successful Retail Store Managers have previously worked in a variety of customer service and sales management positions providing a range of products and services, including electronics, clothing, gym memberships, rental cars, furniture, insurance, wireless products.

Specific qualifications for this position include:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • High School diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years sales/customer service/retail experience; 1 year management experience, preferred
  • Experience working in sales job involving performance-based pay, preferred
  • Management experience in restaurants, call centers or any type of door-to-door sales, a plus
