The Retail/Catering Manager provides overall planning and direction to and control of the retail operation to achieve operating standards, guest and client (including client employees) satisfaction, and financial goals within requirements of company policies and statutory requirements. The employee will provide guidance, training, and follow up to team members and other key operational personnel.

The Retail/Catering Manager establishes and maintains effective guest and client satisfaction through regular contact, active listening and timely addressing of issues or concerns. Overseeing all retail operations, this person will be responsible for strategically planning, creating and implementing strong customer menus and merchandising that drive customer satisfaction, volume and revenue.

Essential Functions and key tasks:

  • Hires team members for existing/anticipated position openings to meet authorized staffing needs and completes all hiring protocols on schedule
  • Develops new team members through skills and standards training, coaching, and feedback
  • Uses systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment
  • Implement effective retail merchandising strategies and best practices to attract and retain customer base
  • Achieve and exceed planned sales and profit levels through the implementation of creative and attractive dining choices
  • Provide leadership to front of the house team members ensuring execution of all duties to guarantee a maximum quality customer dining experience in a quality work environment
  • Provide expertise to client in the planning and execution of catered functions within the hospital or business dining segment
  • Work collaboratively with Dining Services Director to generate and implement strategies to create a successful overall dining experience and exceed customer expectations


Job Requirements


A bachelors degree in business or hospitality is desirable. Three (3) years of successful experience managing a large volume retail food service operation is desired. Healthcare and/or business dining experience strongly preferred. A proven track record of implementing a superb retail dining experience would be beneficial and highly desired. Strong candidates will havea solidbackground in merchandising and a true understanding of product contribution and mix.Candidates that are self-motivated, detail oriented, andpossess a strong sense of customer service will be a best fit. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well asexcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously are also necessary.
