Network Engineer Specialist
Start Date: 10/2/2013
End Date: 4/2/2014
Location: Kansas-Overland Park

This position is responsible for configuration, pre-mapping, physical and logical layer test and turn up activities for customer, entrance and IMT circuits. Project manages/coordinates each circuit to install status ensuring it is capable of handling customer and network traffic. Provides all necessary information to internal/external departments and/or vendors and works with them to resolve any issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
Establish end-to-end continuity and perform required testing using the appropriate system on entrance and access circuits
Configuring a variety of telecom hardware (Alcatel, Ciena, Cisco, NEC, Sycamore, Tellabs and Titan)
Work in all support systems efficiently SMS/FMS/LASSIE/NRM/TRS and other standalone systems
Direct trouble resolution activities with internal technicians and external vendors/customers
Perform mapping functions on DWDM, SONET, BBDCS & WBDCS
Identify and distribute incoming workload out or required systems
Remove technical/process obstacles that impede the success of the circuit installation
Ability to work all circuit types (DS0-OC192 and ethernet)
Troubleshoot complex issues on the network
Proficient in using all systems required to perform their function such as SMS/FMS/NRM/LASSIE/TRS and other standalone systems as necessary#CBRose#
