Koch Fertilizer, LLC is seeking a motivated and self-driven Manager Automation Projects to join our team in Wichita, KS. The successful candidate will develop strategies and execute projects to implement the KF Automation Vision. This role will work closely with the Process Controls Manager to understand the vision and develop projects and resource strategies. Responsibilities include:

• Work with KF operations leadership to develop projects and execution strategies and timelines that fully capture the automation vision in a prioritized manner.
• Integrate projects into the operating and TA schedules
• Ensure scheduling integrates manpower and resources from central project and plant resources
• Manage the automation project portfolio and project manager assignments process with all of the Koch Fertilizer plants
• Develop resource strategies to execute the automation projects
• Project management team
• Contract Design resources
• Work with Process Controls Manager to integrate the controls Engineering resources
• Field Construction and Construction Management
• Perform projects per the Koch Fertilizer Project Process and ensure Gate reviews and other process discipline checks on automation projects
• We would plan to lower the threshold for a required gate check to probably $250K
• Develop plant engineering leaders to be able to do gate reviews
• Ensure process for gate checks works for these smaller projects
• Ensure adequate project controls for smaller plant projects
• Supervise and develop the automation project managers

Requirements:

• Strong commitment to Safety, Environmental Compliance, Plant Reliability, Production Excellence and personal accountability
• 10+ years experience in Engineering and Project Management
• 5+ years experience in Automation and Controls Engineering
• Experience with Major DCS system cutover
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
• Organizational skills ability to prioritize responsibilities
• Experience performing Capital Project management
• Able to identify root project opportunities and work independently to achieve goals
• Strong technical background and skills
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices
• BS in Engineering from an accredited institution

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to enter plant operating sites to access and inspect equipment. Inspections will include utilizing ladders and platforms in excess of 100 feet, entering confined spaces and be capable of utilizing all required personal protective equipment.

Preferred:

• Experience managing projects and engineering in a major petrochemical plant or refinery
• Experience managing engineering for small projects
• Knowledge of Project Controls
• Process knowledge and experience in Ammonia and UAN production
• Business development and project economic evaluation
