Information Specialist I / Lead Systems Administrator ku jayhawk KU School of Engineering seeks a proven Lead System Administrator to lead the Schools development of an agile & superior IT environment built to serve a broad spectrum of research & academic computing. This individual will utilize expert technical knowledge to plan & develop integrated solutions & solve varied hardware/ software issues critical to the Schools success. The Lead Systems Administrator works with Microsoft Windows server implementations, administration, monitoring, & general maintenance of systems infrastructure & operation of Windows servers in a diverse & exciting multi- tiered environment. Salary $65-75K Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree OR 4 yrs exp as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), 2) Min of 3 yrs exp in system administration in both workstation & server roles (including hardware & software problem resolution), 2. 1 yr exp in at least 1 current programming language. (such as, but not limited to, Perl, Python, Django, etc.) 3. 1 yr exp implementing & maintaining Microsoft Active Directory in a medium to large (75 node minimum) network. 4. 1 yr exp implementing & maintaining Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). 5. 1 yr exp implementing & maintaining Microsoft Server 2008 R2 or newer. 6. 2 yrs of exp with system virtualization in a medium- scale production environment. 7. 3 yrs exp with at least 2 of the following operating systems or network protocols: UNIX-based (Solaris, Linux, et al), Windows XP/Vista, Netware, TCP/ IP.
