Computer/Server Technician at Overland Park

If you are a skilled computer technician who loves to learn and be challenged, this might be the job for you.  Each day we are working directly with business owners, supporting different systems in different environments, often working with leading edge systems.  Our technicians have full authority to propose and implement improvements across every level of equipment, from mobile through desktops and servers and including networks, cloud and remote environments.


Job Purpose:

Maintains and services computing environments for Onsite Logic clients by providing onsite hardware and software system support; identifying system improvements; upgrading, installing, and configuring systems; monitoring system performance, servicing and repairing network and workstation hardware and software issues.

Duties:

* Actively listens to client issues and concerns asking probing questions to clarify and thoroughly comprehend the situation.


* Formulates and clearly communicates suggested courses or action to address problems and concerns and identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement in system stability, security and performance.

* Identifies system improvements by evaluating system performance.


* Provides easy to understand answers to clients by identifying problems, discussing options available and assisting clients in implementation and support.

* Upgrades system performance by tuning and configuring systems.

* Protects system information by preparing and testing disaster recovery procedures.

* Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.

* Accomplishes organizations growth objectives by maintaining satisfaction of existing clients and actively seeking referrals to new clients.

Skills/Qualifications:

Active listening skills, Strong verbal and written communication skills, Customer Focus, Network Maintenance, Networking Standards, Network Performance Tuning, Desktop Service and Support, Process Improvement, Developing Standards, Analyzing Information, Network and Desktop Troubleshooting, Technical Documentation, Quality Focus.  A+ or MCP certification required.  Exchange and Cisco experience a plus.  Server experience required.
