- Partner with product and process owners to understand the vision and define business value for the domain/project.
- Facilitate release planning sessions to develop and maintain the product roadmap.
- Establish the product backlog and work with the product/process owners to ensure feature-level user stories are prioritized and accurately reflect customer and business priorities.
- Lead cross-functional teams comprised of product management, operations, and other subject matter experts to facilitate user story development.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functionality requirements.
- Regularly refines the product backlog by adding, prioritizing, and/or removing feature-level user stories to maintain alignment to the product/project vision and roadmap.
- Prepare for iteration planning by selecting appropriate user stories and leading story review.
- Perform detailed story analysis to determine conditions of satisfaction and to understand the impact to other systems, projects, domains, and operational teams.
- Ensure delivery of Analyst artifacts as agreed to by the project/domain team in the Definition of Done.
- Participate in daily scrum meetings and take the initiative to organize other necessary meetings and ceremonies.
- Answer ad hoc questions and provide clarification/direction to development and support teams regarding user stories.
- Support day to day processing, incident triage, RPS Request process, and address questions about how the product currently works.
Education / Experience / Skills:
- BS/BA degree or 3+ years of analyst experience or product development experience
- Must have exceptional soft skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns
- Ability to think logically, critically, and constructively about complex problems and propose solutions that address expressed needs
- Ability to facilitate negotiation and build consensus amongst competing parties, ultimately driving teams to decision
- Ability to glean organizational strategy and work with stakeholders to identify and define priorities appropriately
- Proven experience and passion for facilitating requirements gathering sessions, designing customer facing interfaces (navigation, look, and feel) for complex web applications and websites.
- Excellent strengths in time management and organization skills with an aptitude toward creative problem solving.
- Possess proven leadership skills
- Ability to operate independently and effectively, making progress on tasks while dealing with process and project ambiguity
- Experience (1 year or more) with analysis in Agile, Scrum, and/or XP development environments
- Experience in medium to large business environment
- Financial industry experience and knowledge of defined contribution plans preferred
- Experience using Agile frameworks and BDD test specification frameworks a plus
- Experience with Lean preferred.
- In depth knowledge of latest Microsoft Office Products, MS Project, Internet, and email
- Working knowledge of Jira is a plus.
