This position is responsible for responding to service requests from users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, operating system and application issues, researching solutions and configuring, installing and maintaining computers and peripherals. This should have a good working knowledge of our standard applications and requires little assistance with day to day problem resolution pertaining to hardware and operating systems. This individual is an experienced technician and will provide assistance to associates. This position will have an emphasis on mobility.
This position is responsible for maintaining appropriate security of desktop workstations and laptops
- Primary responsibilities are troubleshooting and resolving hardware, operating system and application issues
- Researches problems relating to hardware, operating systems and applications and verifies with senior level technicians
- Responds quickly and efficiently to user requests
- Configures, installs and maintains computers and peripherals
- Will assist other members of the team with problem resolutions, as needed
- Monitors and keeps service request backlog cleared, keeping supervisor informed of work status, problems and potential problems
- Adheres to assigned work schedule
- Continues education and certification
Qualifications:
- Able to work under general supervision
- Good self-direction and follow-through
- Requires a minimum of 3 years in a Help Desk Technician or PC repair position or an Associates degree in a computer related discipline
Strong working knowledge of:
- Installing and configuring hardware including; adaptor cards, memory, modems, and drivers
- Current Operating Systems including; Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro
- Internet connectivity and standard WEB browsers
- Basic e-mail functionality and problem resolution
- Modem connectivity and troubleshooting
- Directory Services
- Exceptional Customer service orientation
- Excellent problem determination skills
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with all personality types
- Handles stressful situations in a calm and controlled manner
- Good time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Capable of taking direction from senior team members
