To stand out in the competitive Kansas City Barbecue scene of the mid 1970s, Jack and Delores Fiorella took a modest selection of 5 or 6 barbecue items and grew it into the most extensive barbecue menu in the country. Over the past 40 years, the restaurant has evolved and grown into the largest, full service wood cookery in the industry. Jack Stack Barbecue operates four upscale, casual dining restaurants in the Kansas City metropolitan area: Martin City, Overland Park, Downtown, and on the Country Club Plaza.
Career Description
Jack Stack Barbecue is looking for experienced Assistant Kitchen Managers who are passionate about consistently delivering the nations best Kansas City style barbecue. Successful candidates must be quality and standards driven, highly organized, detail oriented individuals who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should possess a recognizable maturity and energy that enables them to effectively lead, manage, train, and coach employees from a variety of backgrounds.
Essential Functions
Motivate employees to work as a cohesive team to ensure food and service meet appropriate standards
Ensure guests are completely and thoroughly satisfied with their dining experience
Enforce restaurant standards, policies and procedures with all restaurant employees
Maintain restaurant cleanliness in line with Jack Stack and Health Department standards
Create and manage effective schedules according to labor budgets
Conduct timely andprofessional employee evaluations
Experience and Abilities
5+ years of Front and/or Back of the house management experience in a high volume, full service food environment
Possess ServSafe certification
Cannot be convicted of a felony
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
Possess basic accounting and computer skills
Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
Familiarity with food and labor costs
Ability to be seen as a positive role model and strong leader
Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative
Possess good communications skills to deal with guests and staff
Ability to ascertain staff training needs and provide such training
Ability to direct performance of staff and follow up with correction where needed
Ability to motivate and maintain a cohesive team
Ability to enforce restaurants standards, policies and procedures
Maintain good health, stamina, and a neat a clean appearance
Promote a positive work environment between all departments of the restaurant
